Kits Family Practice Patient Portal

A Message from Dr. Winnie Su

To my dear patients,

After over 23 years, it is with mixed emotions that I am leaving this practice.  I am so thankful for the absolute privilege of being your family physician for all these years.  The rewards of longitudinal family medicine have greatly surpassed what I had ever anticipated when I began my career in 2002.  It has been an immense honour to be trusted to come alongside you and your families in your health and life journeys.  As many of you know, one of my greatest joys was providing maternity care and delivering babies. Witnessing your children grow up is something I will always remember, and I will always cherish all the bonds I have created with each of you.

Thank you to all who came just to bid me farewell, for the thoughtful cards/letters, original artwork, and gifts.  I cannot tell you how moved and overwhelmed I feel by your show of love and appreciation.  As much as you have learned from me, I have learned from you, too.  You have brought me joy and taught me to become more compassionate, more curious, and humbler. Because of you, I am a better physician and person.

Congratulations to my close friend and colleague, Dr. Helen Chen, who retired as of July 1, 2026. I wish my other office partner, Dr. Jenny Liu, the very best as she moved her practice to Symphony Health in July 2026. I honestly could not have asked for a better team. We are very proud of the work we have done together for over 20 years and are blessed by the community we had the opportunity to serve.

As of July 1, 2026, ownership of Kits Family Practice (KFP) was transferred to Dr. Adeyinka Adeniyi (“Dr. Ade”). He began working full-time, Monday to Friday, on July 28, 2026, and has also chosen to provide after-hours call to help maintain access to care. More information about his office policies will be posted on the website in the near future.

Dr. Alesia DiCicco (pronounced “dee-CHEEK-oh”), our associate since December 2025, will stay at Kits Family Practice, seeing patients 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday).

All our patients can book their appointments with EITHER physician by phone or online. If you prefer a female physician, feel free to book your appointments with Dr. DiCicco.

Through the month of July, I had stayed at KFP in a supportive role while our resident Dr. Min Jung completed her residency. We wish her the very best as she embarks on her career as a new family physician!

As I transition to UBC, I look forward to making a positive impact on the training of medical students and residents. Many of you are wondering if I will return to clinical work; I will try to run a procedures clinic at KFP for the next few months, providing specific services to patients and a place to teach medical students/residents.

Sandy and Joy, our hard-working and experienced medical office assistants will stay at KFP to assist you. All our contact information remains the same including our online booking portal and clinic website. Please check the website for practice UPDATES, as Dr. Adeniyi will likely not be sending out emails, as we did previously.

If you decide to transfer your care elsewhere, please send a request from your new doctor’s office to KFP and we will ensure your chart is transferred. There is standard fee for chart transfers based on the Family Doctors of BC recommended rate.

I truly wish Dr. Adeniyi and Dr. DiCicco the very best as they carry on the legacy that we created at Kits Family Practice.

I hope our paths will cross again, and I wish you the very best in health and in life.

With love and gratitude,
Dr. Winnie Su
